Stokvel Talk Newspaper

Stokvel Talk is a dedicated print newspaper focusing on the economics of stokvels and community development. Published monthly in a tabloid format, 5,000 copies are strategically distributed to community members actively involved in stokvels.

As a proud member of the Association of Independent Publishers (AIP), Stokvel Talk is published by Eric Phiri, founder of Stokvel Media Hub (Pty) Ltd and AIP Board Member representing Gauteng Province.

Eric Phiri, born and raised in Dan Village, Tzaneen, Limpopo, discovered his passion for publishing in his early twenties, inspired by his best friend, photographer Lefty Shivambu. His mother’s participation in a local stokvel motivated him to create a platform that educates and empowers stokvel members on how to generate revenue and build businesses.

Since its launch, Stokvel Talk has transformed lives—many township entrepreneurs credit its stokvel roadshows as the catalyst for starting their businesses. Through insightful content and community engagement, Stokvel Talk continues to be a trusted resource for stokvel groups across South Africa.
