Dizindaba Newspaper is a leading isiXhosa-language tabloid in the Western Cape, committed to connecting isiXhosa-speaking communities in the Eastern and Western Cape with vital news and government updates since its launch in February 2010. Published fortnightly on Thursdays, providing relevant news and information to a readership that has long been underserved in their mother tongue.
Our mission is to bridge the communication gap between isiXhosa-speaking communities and different spheres of government while reviving the isiXhosa language and promoting a culture of reading and engagement.
The name “Dizindaba” means “News Reveal” reflecting our commitment to delivering insightful, relevant, and impactful journalism. As a 100% black, independently women owned publication, we uphold the highest ethical standards, rejecting content that promotes prejudice, discrimination, or harmful behaviours such as drug and alcohol abuse.
Our Reach: Print Distribution
Dizindaba currently prints 10,000 copies per edition, per fortnight, with each edition ranging between 8 to 16 pages.
With a strong grassroots presence, we bring news for free directly to informal settlements, rural areas, and underserved communities where access to isiXhosa-language news is limited.
