About Muslim Views
With a publishing legacy dating back to 1960, Muslim Views is one of South Africa’s most respected independent publications. Originally launched as Muslim News by Imam Abdullah Haron, a renowned anti-Apartheid activist, the paper played a key role in resisting Apartheid and advocating for freedom. Despite being banned 21 times, it remained a voice for justice.
In 1986, Muslim Views was established as its successor, under the leadership of Farid Sayed. Today, the paper continues to provide in-depth reporting on local, national, and international issues, with a focus on social justice, diversity, and ethical journalism.
